FDACS administers the producer recovery loan, checks the operation and storm damage, and sets out the application and repayment requirements.

How to get it

Document the damage, then apply with FDACS

  1. Check the damaged farm or aquaculture facility against FDACS's Isaias county list and qualifying-operation requirements.
  2. Gather damage photos, recovery receipts and required documents. Non-owners need the owner's Authorized Representative Form.
  3. Open the FDACS disaster-loan portal, choose Hurricane Isaias and complete all sections and uploads. Save the confirmation.
  4. Review collateral, repayment, prior-loan limits and other recovery-assistance restrictions before accepting funds. Selling the pledged property or collateral makes the loan due.

A lien on property or other collateral secures this loan; it becomes due if that property or collateral is sold. Payments are deferred for three years, with conditional principal reductions. FDACS may renew the initial one-year application period during an active declared emergency; funding can run out sooner. Confirm current terms with FDACS.

Requirements, counties & official sources

30 damaged-property counties · producer eligibility required

FDACS offers interest-free Isaias recovery loans up to $500,000 for eligible agriculture and aquaculture producers. This is a repayable loan, not a household grant or guaranteed award.

The damaged farm or aquaculture facility must be in a county on FDACS's Isaias list and must have sustained qualifying damage. Applicants must meet the bona fide agricultural operation or sovereign submerged-land lease requirements; a Farmland label in Persona is not proof of eligibility.

Eligible uses include restoring, repairing or replacing essential fences, equipment, greenhouses and other buildings, removing vegetative debris, or restocking aquaculture. Funded buildings must meet applicable storm-hardening standards.

Applicants must be at least 18 and meet FDACS's Florida-residency/U.S.-citizenship or qualifying U.S.-entity requirements. Non-owners need the property owner's Authorized Representative Form. Disclose other recovery assistance and avoid unlawful duplication of benefits.

The program allows one loan per application period, at most two within a rolling 12-month period measured from the first loan application, and at most five in any three-year period.

The loan requires a lien on property or other collateral specified in the agreement and becomes due if that property or collateral is sold. FDACS lists a 10-year term with payments deferred for the first three years. Conditional principal reductions require continued production and agreement compliance; review all security and repayment terms before accepting funds.

The initial application period runs up to one year after the declared emergency or until available loan funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first. FDACS may renew the period during an active declared emergency. Check its current application notice and funding availability; the first-year limit is not a permanent closing date.

Initial period: up to one year or until funds run out; FDACS may renew during an active emergency
