How to get it

Confirm the waiver before paying or visiting

  1. Find the driver license or tax collector office handling your replacement or renewal and check its current opening and appointment requirements.
  2. Explain how Isaias caused the loss or delay. Ask which fees the agency's emergency order covers for your transaction and location.
  3. Confirm required documents, any remaining charges and the deadline; keep the office's confirmation with your transaction records.

More context & the original report

Florida's October 8 preparedness update confirms that FLHSMV signed an emergency order for certain storm-related fees and administrative actions. Executive Order 26-202 authorizes relief involving replacement driver licenses, ID cards, plates, registrations, titles and disabled parking permits, as well as some storm-delayed renewals. Vessel documents are also included in the authorization. The issuing driver license or tax collector office must confirm which fees, locations, documents and deadlines apply to your transaction. The separate exemptions for trucks carrying emergency supplies are not a household document-replacement benefit.
